Tamarind Thai Restaurant—The Atomsphere of Home

This evening I went to a Thai restaurant in the Marais area. It was very quiet when we entered the restaurant. I was impressed by the waitresses standing at the door, crossing their arms and welcoming us in. All the waiters were very gentle and nice.

The wooden tables and chairs, the light gray concrete walls, and the warm yellow lights, all in a wooden color, gave me a warm feeling. The wooden tables and chairs, and the chopsticks on the table reminded me of my hometown, as if I am having dinner back home. There are many love hearts and stars decoration hanging from the ceiling. 

The table was decorated with dark green plates, green napkins and glasses. Warm yellow candles were placed on the table. What impressed me was the menu, which had a very nice surgical design with carved elephants and bushes, elephants running through the grasslands. The menu looks like it was made of wood. The menu matches the color of the restaurant and the wooden tables, which give off a friendly vibe. 

Tonight, my friends and I ordered two dishes. The first course was steak. It was very tender, with a complimentary sauce that was very tart and flavorful. The beef was very tender, and was sprinkled with sesame seeds, and served with pickled radish, which was sweet, sour, and spicy, very refreshing. The overall presentation was beautiful. 

The second course we ordered was the shrimp fried rice. The shrimp was very juicy and tender. The fried rice was cooked with the right timing and temperature, with the sourness of lemon, the sweetness of shrimp, not too salty, and overall very harmonious. 

It's worth mentioning that the plates in this restaurant are very well-designed, each with a different pattern, adding a different flavor to the dinner. This was my first time trying Thai food and I found it very tasty! 

The waiter came back a while later to ask us if we needed water, or if we wanted to order something else, he took care of us very well. The waiter was also very attentive and warm. During the meal, I asked the waiter how to say thank you in Thai. I didn't speak it very well, but the waiter patiently taught me how to pronounce it one word at a time, and even commented that I did a good job at speaking it so well! Every server had a smile on their face, and I was very satisfied with my meal and the overall dining experience!
