The Harmony of the corner and colors—Montmarte (Copy)

Once you get off the subway, you can see the town's vintage Parisian architecture and the sidewalks. As you walk up the stairs, you can see many residents having breakfast and brunch in the corner cafes, enjoying the sunshine and breeze, smiling and chatting with each other about their daily life, enjoying a moment of peace and quiet.

The overall architectural style of Montmartre is a bit different from the vintage architecture of some areas in Paris. From my point of view, it's a bit like Parisian vintage with a little bit of modern style.

Next, we arrived at the first famous street, Rue de l'Abreuvoir, which was featured in the movie Emily in Paris. Unlike the usual Parisian architecture, this street is filled with colorful buildings, bright colors, greenery and warm afternoon sunshine. The whole street is full of life, making you feel like you are in an oil painting.

There is also a famous cafe on this street, “La Maison de Rose,” the cafe where Emily and Mindy have afternoon tea together in the movie. I haven't been to this cafe, but the appearance of the cafe is very pink, and with the green color of the windows, the whole building has a high degree of saturation, and the atmosphere of the building is very lively.

Next came the Montmartre Market, and it was located in the center of a large square-like area. It is surrounded by various restaurants and cafes. Each cafe and restaurant is decorated in a very colorful way, and the whole area is very lively. Many people sit on the street corners and enjoy lunch and afternoon tea with friends. The tops of the cafes and restaurants, like most French cafes, are decorated with wreaths of flowers and sliders, adding a little bit of life to the whole place.

When you come here in mid-September, the Art Market is decorated with blue and red wreaths and flowers, and the blue and pink colors are very spring-like. Enjoy the romance of spring in Montmartre in the fall. The art market is full of stalls and artists of various styles.

Everyone could choose their favorite artist and ask him to paint a self-portrait. The artist I chose was a youthful artist wearing glasses. Instead of using different colors, he used black pens of different thicknesses and sizes. For twenty minutes, he utilized the thickness and density of the lines to shape the features and shadows of my face. To my surprise, the artist utilized the density of the lines to create the mood of a hot dance. It was as if I could see myself in the painting through his brushstrokes, and feel the emotion in his eyes.

As we continued our walk, we came across the Sacred Heart Cathedral, a huge building with a white façade and detailed carvings. Opposite the building are the steps, which are filled with people who buy locks from street vendors, write their own names and the names of their loved ones, and hang them on the railings facing the church. As far as the eye can see, the railings are covered with locks of all kinds, some of which have rusted and can be seen to have been locked a long time ago.

As you walk down the stairs, you will see an orange and white building. This is what is known as the “sunken house”. If you walk back a little bit and go up the staircase, about the middle of the staircase, you can see through the lawn and the building's straight line forming an optical illusion, which looks like the house is sunken into the lawn.

Sitting on the stairs in front of the Sacré-Coeur Cathedral, you can see the whole of Paris. It's very beautiful, full of storytelling architecture, and in this fairytale-like Montmartre, to me, the scenery in the fairytale is the synonym of happiness.
