Back to 2000s— the book shop of retro and modern— Ofr. Paris
Today I visited a bookstore in the 3rd arrondissement. This bookstore has 95,000 followers on Instagram, so it's one of the most famous bookstores in Paris.
Outside the bookstore, there are two tables with books on them.
When I walked into the bookstore, I saw a wide selection of magazines, newspapers, postcards, and all kinds of books. The display windows on both sides of the store are filled with books and postcards. On the left side of the store, you can see a lot of customized canvas bags, hats, and other accessories with the bookstore's logo. In the corner of the bookstore, you can also find some plaid tops and other kinds of clothes.
The display of magazines and books inside the bookstore is very interesting. The bookstore is not neatly organized, even a bit chaotic, but you can see where the magazines you want to read are at a glance. What impressed me the most was the exterior decoration of the cashier's desk, which made me lose track of the location of the cashier's desk for a while. There are books all around the cashier's desk, which makes me feel like I'm in a sea of books, which is a very creative and artistic atmosphere.
The overall color of the bookstore is warm yellow, with vintage chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. The main colors of the bookstore are coffee and earthy yellows, together with the age-old magazines and postcards, and the warm light of the interior. It's a perfect atmosphere for an autumn home. In the Paris where autumn leaves are in full bloom, the winds are blowing, the leaves are falling, and the vintage architecture is in search of the eyes. Together, with the vintage decoration, it's as if you're in the corner of the 20th century: cozy, vintage, and warm are the synonyms that I give to Ofr. Paris.
Across the hallway, there is a small room at the back of the bookstore. The room is filled with art displays. There are black and white portrait posters on the surface, photo posters on the table and in the corners, and posters that look like magazine covers. Large and small photos and posters, different directions, different positions are displayed in all corners.
Combined with the room's windows and greenery, the whole room is filled with an irregularly lively and quiet artistic atmosphere. Different decorations and posters, decorative styles in contrast, complex but more orderly, so that people look very quiet, but not silent. With the full body floor mirror opposite the door, it adds a sense of transparency to the whole space and makes the overall atmosphere more vibrant.
The contradictory sense of modern silence in the showroom collides with the retro liveliness in front of the bookstore. Two extreme atmospheres, as if traveling from the 20th century to the modern era. Two eras, lively but not stable, quiet but not losing fun.
If you are a Gemini with an extreme personality like me, or if you are looking for a retro feel but like the quietness of listening to music alone, then why not listen to your favorite music alone and come to this place — a symphony of the past and the present — that will bring you a different kind of Paris! Come and experience Ofr. Paris, a bookstore located in the 3rd arrondissement of Paris!
